Halal livestock supply: separate live-animal, veterinary and meat certificates

Match halal documents to the product, issuing body and consignment. Prepare the appropriate pack for live animals, slaughter and meat shipment stages.

01

What documents matter for live animals entering the UAE?

MOCCAE's live-animal service describes an import permit followed by inspection and release. The published release documents include an attested veterinary health certificate, a commercial certificate of origin where applicable and a customs declaration. Species and source-country conditions should be checked in the current service and approved-country list.

  • Match identification and lot numbers across the animal and paperwork.
  • Check the permit, issuing authority, validity and arrival port.
02

When is a halal slaughter certificate required for Saudi-bound meat?

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority says halal slaughter certification is mandatory for meat, poultry and their products entering Saudi Arabia. Its clearance guidance calls for a consignment certificate from a body recognized by the Saudi Halal Center. Confirm the current product-specific rule and the body named on the actual certificate.

  • Check the slaughter date, product, lot and consignment reference.
  • Verify the certifier's current recognition and certificate authenticity.
  • Keep veterinary, origin and cold-chain records linked to the same shipment.
03

How should a buyer evaluate a halal claim?

Request the certificate for the relevant product, stage and destination. Match its scope, issuing body, dates and traceability to the offered shipment.

  • Check certificate authenticity with the issuer.
  • Resolve mismatched names, dates or lot numbers before dispatch.
